| Gorbichov | Mar 31, 5:54pm | I tend to stick to realistic games with the settings full blast realism. Games like Armed Assault, IL2: Sturmovik (1946) and similar.
Every once in a while I make a brief search on Google for realism mods or new realistic games. Call of Duty 4 claimed realism just like every game does but did not deliver in any sense.
I'm curious if anyone knows of any other realism oriented games. |

You might want to try .skate if you care for something else than war-games. |

you could try rally games, flight simulators, oh there is that USA army game, supposedly based on American soldiers missions, it's free so it's worth a shot:

| altfthirteen | Apr 1, 7:09am | | I didn't play much of america's army as you have to do these silly training tasks, like do obstacle courses and practice shooting which really pissed me off, half the time I kept shooting the sergeant and kept getting sent to prison other than that you get missions where you have to work with others to complete a task, so it's pretty realistic |

| olegnep | Apr 1, 7:41am | realism is hard to achieve with games nowadays while keeping fun alive , the more realistic a game is the more difficult it is , realistically if you get shot with a 9 mm bullet you will not die but you will also not get up again until a paramedic comes to help you.
for me hard != fun , i like very easy games that look good and have a good story , for me playing a game is like reading a book , i hate having to go back to the beginning of the chapter because i died . so i guess i am pretty anti realism , thats why i hated GRAW 2 , you could try that one , its not bad , but its not to my tastes
I quit americas army after i could not get past the damn training mission... |

| Gorbichov | Apr 3, 8:53pm | I don't know. I suppose I like realism because of the immersion. Red Orchestra sucked but had a good way of dealing with debilitating injuries: you died. Instead of sitting and waiting for some medic with his magic fairy wand to come bring you back, you simply died. Leg shot, dead. Why? It isn't very fun to sit in a field crying for your mother in a game. Probably not in real life either. Too bad though, Red Orchestra sucked.
Some games are simply fun regardless of realism, but I have found very few. Games like the GTA series (don't hate me) and Zelda. There are others but they escape me at the moment.
I tried STALKER. I followed that game for 2 or more years. It was nothing like it was slated to be. Luckily I didn't pay for it, nor would I ever.
I definitely do like racing sims, so I will try out Richard Burns Rally.
As for hard = fun, I agree. That is why I like realism. |

| Phil1988 | Apr 4, 2:22am | | I don't really care how much realistic a game is or not. what I don't like though are easy games that let you take massive damage without dying. |
