Anybody with me? Who else has stuck with it for the required time to get the feel for it, and see it for the masterpiece it is??

| oldSNAKE | Dec 30, 2007 6:09pm | oh, i'm with you..
it's a shame they (developers) didn't make a little bit more effort- making it the best game available for the ps3 at the moment.. almost..
one of the nicest and catchiest games this (very fruitful) year..
all i can say to anyone who hasn't yet played it is: neglect the bad critics, it's g00d!! very g00d.. |

Talk about a accomplishment (~_^)
The fact that the game is available for the 360 would take some shine away from that achievement too.
I haven’t played the game. I tend to believe the critics on this one. It always looked like the next level POP with a lot of buzz created around it to me and haven’t read anything about the game that convince me otherwise. |

To be fair to the developers, all the boring bits are just realistic, I doubt being an assassin is all jumping from rooftops and killing random people. |

| | | elshanks | Jan 1, 11:25am | Hmmm......well, that`s the way my assassin has been doing things of late.... just causing all KINDS of mischief. That, i believe, is one of the things about this game that i really am impressed by. You can play it the way you feel at the moment, (as long as your fighting/escaping skills are up to par), and it`s a laugh a minute. The MAIN appeal, to me, is the fact that you CAN play it slow and easy, avoiding ALL negative attention, going about your mision like say.....ummm....a real assassin would have to. Yeah.
IMMERSION. the key word here. I truly believe that a large percentage of gamers today, hell, alot of us from way back, even, lack the sense of adventure, and the imagination that leads to true gaming nirvana. I`m not knocking anybody here.....it`s just a basic fact. Depending on your genetic makeup, you most certainly will find people with wildly varying degrees of imagination, senses of adventure, and patience. I find myself playing most games.....AS the main character. I`m a true role-player, that`s what i allways wanted from games, to be able to live out my fantasies (well, the non-nasty ones) onscreen. This game delivers on that fronrt nicely. (except the craptacular voice acting on Altair`s part. Ack.) I admit, it`s far from perfect.....the mission variety is definately stuck in a rut...do these things, repeat., etc. But i am enjoying myself all the while i am doing them...and that means a whole hell of alot to this gamer. Unlike RPG grinding, where i am just hating life the whole time. But unable to stop, cause i want that next level.
I urge all gamers to give this a shot. With a rental, at least, and GIVE IT A CHANCE. I was seriously dissapointed for the first 45 minutes or so....until i began to master the moveset, and get the feel for the game...then it was like "whoah"
Beautiful game. Huge step in the right direction. Consumer support for it will ensure that future games of the genre will continue to edge us to that sweet spot we all live for.
Game on, people. |

| | | elshanks | Jan 5, 3:05am | Yup. I visit Gamespot on a regular basis, when researching my next purchase.
It`s half of my trusted resouces...the other half being the most excellent Gameinformer magazine. |
